When traveling with your dog, I recommend booking directly with the hotel over the phone. This way you can ask specific questions and understand the hotel’s pet policy.
If you can’t leave your dog alone in your room per the hotel’s policy, you’re going to want to find restaurants where you can bring your dog for meals. Most hotels can provide a list of nearby restaurants that allow pets, and typically if the hotel is pet-friendly, at least some part of its lobby bar or onsite restaurant will be too.
Some hotels ask that you not leave your dogs alone in the room. Or if you do, that they be secured in a crate. That being said, any hotel that allows dogs doesn’t usually enforce this policy as long as your dogs are quiet. Professional dog groomers, professional dog handlers, and some veterinary technicians are well trained in grooming, so you can be assured that your beloved pup is in good hands. However, it’s certainly useful for owners to learn maintenance grooming to keep their dogs looking sharp in-between visits to the groomer.
Rather than looking for a pet-friendly hotel, I leave my dog at your pet boarding so that she can have a vacation too.
